Reading in the Wild!

Joan hosts a TV show about books on Auburn Community Television (ACTV) to recommend awesome books you'll want to read! You can watch on ACTV's YouTube channel.

Books are chosen from many genres, all with nature-centered themes. The latest episode focuses on four hiking adventure books: Grandma Gatewood's Walk, a biography by Ben Montgomery, A Walk in the Woods a memoir by Bill Bryson, In My Books a memoir by Amanda K. Jaros, and The Trail a novel by Ethan Gallogly.

The next episode will out in soon. I will be sharing my thoughts about two novels, one set in the future, The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson, and one set in the past, Tangles by Kay Smith-Blum.

About Joan Griffin

Joan lives under the spell of wanderlust. She takes wing, whenever possible, for actual destinations near and far and for literary locales in the pages of books. A third-generation Californian and proud UCLA Bruin, Joan lives in the Northern California foothills of the majestic Sierra Nevada, a world she loves exploring. Joan navigated her way through two careers—marketing computers, then sailboats—before applying her love of storytelling to her dual passions of teaching and writing.
